The team uses a newly localised handbook we developed on Trauma Healing in VE to support the women.

These groups have participated in inter-schools competition and on community radiolaboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in

Film Advocacy

- Developed a DVD Documentary dubbed “A Call Back Home” which is has been showcased during our moonlight shows between 6pm – 8pm in different counties like Mombasa, Kwale and Kilifi. The documentary is one of its kinds where we interview key informants to motivate and encourage youths to participate in building the nation rather than destroying it.

Policy Development

Developed Mombasa County Land Policy for Mombasa County in conjuction with Mombasa Local Urban Forum (MLUF) and in Partnership with the County Government of Mombasa, department of Land, Planning and Housing (LP&H).

Coast Womens Charter CVE

In October 2018, with funding support from USAID and ICAN, COEC launched the First ever Coast Women CVE Charter that takes the view to include the voices of women, including women civil society groups and activists, in CVE work. In Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Taita Taveta, Tana River and Lamu counties, women are both directly and indirectly affected by the extremism in Kenya: they have been trafficked and recruited by Al-Shabaab to become Jihadi brides, or have seen their husbands and children leave to join extremist groups. Women’s contributions to building resilience in communities vulnerable to radicalization are paramount, as women form the backbone of families and communities. Societies that empower their women are less likely to end up with large numbers of young men, with a proclivity for making trouble.
